Programs:

1. Andean Village
   • “Volunteers may help teach children in the village school, help build simple Lorena stoves (which greatly reduces fuel consumption and increases health of the home’s inhabitants by reducing smoke), with community projects and repair, and other projects that arise.”
   • Leisure activities: Hike or ride horses to Markawasi, excursion to nearby fortresses and temples, or to Lima, Andean cooking lessons (such as Pachamanca), star gazing, medicinal nature hikes.
   • Nearest airport: Lima
2. Care for Cuzco
   • “[V]olunteers are badly needed to care for the children at a facility which serves 64 kids, ages 8-17 yrs old. They are extremely poor and come from rural mountains….There’s been virtually no maintenance to the home in 10 years before we found this important home. We have begun painting rooms and making repairs. We are also giving them basic hygiene and 1st Aid instruction. There is a greenhouse project, sewing needed, even mural painting needed. They’ve asked us to teach games & songs, denstrate/teach in handwork/arts&crafts, help teach basic sports like soccer. The main goals are: Promote Self-Esteem, Health & Hygiene, Job Skills when possible,Teach kids to Help Others(i.e. Lorena Stove construction Wheelchair assembly), and Have Fun!”
   • Leisure activities: Scheduled excursion to Machu Picchu (must pay own fees) to other various surrounding ancient sites (some within walk). Explore Cusco. Past groups have met with traditional shamen to learn about their way of life. Pisco sour tasting mission.
